Congratulations AAP and the shrewdest Indian local leader Sri Kejriwal!
People of Delhi trusted and stood by him. He proved that 50% voted people have fallen for freebies which no other State Govt in INDIA offered.
1. Around the clock supply of clean drinking water and the free 20,000 litres per month free water supply.
2. AAP reportedly has reduced citizens’ electricity dues by 50 percent, zero bill for up to 200 units of electricity.
3. Free ride for women in buses and Metro.
4. By recruiting 13000 ex-Service men and deploying then on the DELHI streets have made the success of Odd-Even scheme. There was no question of unemployed youth, cast, sub cast, below BPL etc on employment. A master stroke against campaign of “Nationalism and Our forces at the border patriotic propaganda”.
5. Constructed roads and 'mohalla' clinics in all unauthorised colonies of the city.
Sri Kejriwal on the last leg of his campaign said that the top five priorities if he is voted back are reducing pollution, redesigning roads, cleaning Delhi, regularizing all unauthorized colonies, providing clean water 24x7, free electricity, free travel in all public transport for women, reemployment to all ex-servicemen of Delhi, and improving transport. Can this bring votes in any other Indian State?
He knows that Delhi’s infrastructure is comparable to International standards even before AAP was born, a Congress work. So nothing do on that count. He also knows that he has no control on DDA, DELHI Police, MCD, Law and Order, Maintenance of Monuments and Central Govt Buildings etc., No budgeting and funds needed for such activities. So he choose to concentrate only on middle class and lower income groups who will definitely visit the polling booth and vote for AAP if they are offered schemes beneficial to them.
On shaheed Bagh Sri Kejriwal said even though he supports protests he feels the “rods should be reopened for sure.” Kejriwal also told NDTV That if he had power over the Delhi Police, he would have cleared “the Shaheen Bagh area in two hours.” Will any politician in any other State dare tell this? Did Late Sheela Dikshit, Former Chief Minister of Delhi could have said that while Sri Kejriwal with the support of BJP enacted drama with now forgotten Ramdev in Delhi streets? He can say that because he knows Delhiites will vote for him for the freebies offered by AAP, and ultimately AAP won from Shaheen Bagh area. There was no communal backlash for not supporting them, also in other areas the so called Hindu votes did not go against AAP.
Sri Kejriwal did not utter a word or side or oppose the agitation of JMI/JNU, CAA/NPR, & Shaheen Bagh Women. Can he be considered anti-students, anti-minority, anti Indian or anti liberal? No, these are all just myths created by vested interests, voters are interested in only their benefits. So he won Delhi elections. He knows these are all non vote catching issues in local election and concentrated on vote catching techniques even after fielding maximum candidates with criminal background.
Support to a political party and voting is based on various parameters, it will change from Panchayat/Municipality to Assembly to Parliament. For example the party that propagated RS 15 Lakhs deposit to individual Bank accounts, Appointment of Lok Pal who will solve all corruption issues, 2G and 3G scam will be probed and accused will be bought to law within 12 months( Six years are over), All the people who left the country by cheating the exchequer by Lakhs of Crores of rupees will be booked and brought back to India, USD will be available at less than RS 50/-, Petrol and Gas prices will be brought down significantly, and many such catching promises have been voted back for a second term even though they did not fulfill any of these promises. That is politics!
The upcoming young leaders should study, evaluate, counter, and need there be adapt some parts from these tricks to win elections and make the party relevant in current politics.
